Today’s meeting had lots of news from the K-World spectrum. K-Con is coming up; unfortunately not all of us can go (sobs). There WILL be a live stream from their Facebook page though. Be sure to LIKE the page to have access to their link. Various artists, and Youtube celebrities will be coming like: NU’EST, VIXX, EXO-M, B.A.P., 4Minute, and G.NA. If you haven’t bought tickets yet, you better hurry!

Next on our list of events is the Korean Festival this weekend! There are lots of booths that give out some free stuff, and a stage filled with awesome music (not just Kpop I warn you). I went last year and it was a lot of fun going with friends. There was a booth that sold Kpop albums, AND posters. They had socks with certain celebrities on them too. I’m not sure if the exact same booths will be there, but I can almost guarantee there will be Kpop merchandise.

Garden Grove is having our annual Student Exchange Program with our sister city Anyang! Click on THIS link to find out more. To apply for this program, you DO NOT have to be a member of Korean Club. Our Project Chair Sarah went on this amazing trip last year, and said it was memorable event. If you have the chance to apply, go for it! It’d be awesome if you went!

Chuseok recently passed so at our next meeting we’ll be having a little surprise for out paid members. Be sure to fill out an application to have these awesome benefits! See you guys next week!

It's great to say that our first meeting was a success! There were so many familiar and new faces! The officers opened up with, "Anyeonghasaeyo! 안녕하세요!" Everyone's faces had excitement and anticipation branded on their faces as each officer introduced herself. (All of our current officers are female.)
We went over basic rules such as keep Ms. Whiston's room clean, respect not only the officers, but also each other. We over the the benefits of being a member, discounts! Yay! Sarah, our cultural chair taught everyone 3 phrases, and it was great to hearing everyone repeat the phrases as she taught them I hope we can greet each other well next week! our meeting ending with a Summer Kpop Compilation made by our own Secretary Carol. The video was roughly 13 minutes long, so we didn't get to finish the video this meeting. Surely next week we will. See you all then!

It's been a long time since the officers had seen any of our members. It's great to see old and new faces interested in Korean culture. We gave away free bookmarks to those interested in our club.
Unfortunately, lots of people signed up and walked away without getting their bookmark! We tried calling them back, but with all the clubs around us screaming, "JOIN OUR CLUB!" and the  movement of the crowd, it was practically impossible.
Our very own secretary, Carol Nguyen, and vice president, Yen Nhi Pham, designed and made 45 designs! Each design was made specially for that groups, or soloist. It's amazing they were able to make 45 design within a month, plus with all their homework. I only made one design for the NU'EST bookmark. I'd like to say, I think I did a pretty good job since I'm not that great with photo shop.
We hope to see many new and returning members at out first meeting October 2nd. Our officers have been very anxious excited about our upcoming events we have planned for everyone. We hope you use the bookmarks well. Please look forward to this year's club events!
